Looking & Feeling
Your Best

Plastic surgery can make transformative changes to your appearance, but maintaining those results — and your overall health — requires a commitment to healthy living. A balanced diet, regular exercise, adequate sleep, sun protection, and avoidance of smoking are all critical factors in preserving what surgery achieves.

Dr. Rafizadeh is happy to discuss nutrition, exercise, and skin care recommendations during your consultation and follow-up appointments. He views healthy living not as an afterthought, but as an essential part of the care he provides to every patient.

“Surgery is the beginning. The habits you maintain afterward determine how well — and how long — your results last.”

What You Eat Matters

A diet rich in antioxidants, lean protein, healthy fats, and hydration supports skin elasticity, wound healing, and overall body composition. After surgery, adequate protein is especially important for tissue repair. Dr. Rafizadeh recommends minimizing processed foods, excess sugar, and alcohol — all of which accelerate skin aging and can compromise results.

Move Regularly

Regular physical activity supports cardiovascular health, maintains a stable weight, and improves body composition. After surgery, patients are guided through a phased return to exercise — from light walking in the first week to full activity at six to eight weeks depending on the procedure. Long-term, consistent exercise is one of the best investments you can make in your surgical results.

Protect & Maintain

Daily SPF, medical-grade skin care, and regular skin check-ups protect your investment in your appearance and maintain the quality of your skin over time. Dr. Rafizadeh's office carries ZO Skin Health products and can recommend a regimen appropriate for your skin type and goals.

Smoking & Excess Sun

Smoking dramatically impairs wound healing and accelerates skin aging — patients who smoke are asked to stop for a minimum of four weeks before and after surgery. Excess sun exposure causes pigmentation, skin damage, and premature aging that undoes even the best surgical result. Year-round SPF is non-negotiable.
